Things you can move

As an EFZ design engineer, you design and draw individual parts and assemblies three-dimensionally on the computer and prepare technical documents. Your training takes place in collaboration with the “libs Industrielle Berufslehren Schweiz” training centre, where you complete the first two years in Zurich Oerlikon. For the core training in the third and fourth years, you will be assigned by libs to the partner company of your choice, if possible.

The training position at Bachofen is extremely attractive and varied: you can further develop our own complex product, the Trimod’Besta level switch, work on customer-specific solutions and design desired equipment. You have direct customer contact and work with state-of-the-art software such as our 3D CAD, product data management or ERP system. You will also be able to assemble some of the solutions you have developed yourself and put them through their paces in person. In addition, you will get to know our extremely broad and versatile product portfolio in your daily work and in training courses.

What you can expect

At Bachofen, apprentices benefit from the following extras:

We pay for textbooks and inter-company courses

We pay for the textbooks that you need in vocational school. We also assume all costs for your mandatory inter-company courses, such as travel expenses, meals, support and, if necessary, accommodation.

More free time than elsewhere

With a 40-hour week and 6 weeks’ annual holiday, our apprentices have more free time than many others. Up to another week off is available by working the hours in advance. You also enjoy flexible working hours during your apprenticeship.

Modern workplaces and IT infrastructure

Our workplaces are modern and ergonomically equipped with adjustable desks and top-level digital work tools, including laptop and IT support for the vocational school.

Eat fresh and healthy for half price

Our team at the staff canteen keep us fuelled with healthy meals. Thanks to generous subsidies from the company, our apprentices only pay half of what is already a very attractive price.
