A fill quantity check by means of a weight measurement with load cells gives more precise results than other measurement techniques. Thus, a fill level measurement for horizontal tanks or process containers can be seen as a major challenge in measurement / process technology. Measurement systems with hydrostatic, capacitive or radar measurement are pushed to their limits. Surface measurements of bulk goods lead to inaccurate and incorrect results.
