Hot and cold in alternation: a heat exchanger's job
The principle of temperature transfer from one medium to another without direct contact between the media is used in an extremely diverse range of industrial processes. As such, the demands placed on heat exchange systems with regard to dimensioning, performance and design are equally as specific.
On the other hand, there are a number of fundamental criteria that every heat exchanger must fulfil: for example, maintenance and cleaning cycles that are as long as possible, as well as resistance to corrosion and energy efficiency. Soldered, bolted, welded – a wide product range
Plate heat exchangers from Alfa Laval are available in many designs and materials. The offer ranges from small to medium copper-brazed or fusion-welded models to large, bolted devices and also includes the appropriate insulating hoods.
Double-wall plate heat exchangers are the ideal solution for applications in which fluids must not be allowed to mix. In the unlikely event of plate leakage, the escaping liquid will never come into contact with the fluid in another circuit.
Regardless of their size, sealed plate heat exchangers from Alfa Laval can be opened quickly and easily, by a single person using standard tools, for the purposes of inspection or to enable the replacement of a seal.
